Marking 10 years of collaboration, the OECD Training Centre in Italy convened a forum on 6 and 7 May 2024 to discuss inclusive public governance and sustainability in Africa and the MENA region. Mamadou Biteye, Executive Director of ACBF joined over 30 participants from 12 countries and international organizations to tackle the following critical issues:
Combating Corruption: Experts emphasized strong rule of law and citizen engagement.
Sustainable Infrastructure: Discussions focused on strategic procurement, innovation, and electronic systems.
Empowering Leaders: Schools of Government representatives highlighted their role in training future leaders.
Green Transition: Participants explored strategies for robust decision-making and leading by example on climate action.
ACBF participated in a panel discussion on Perspectives on Public Governance in Africa, and the Role of the OECD’s Africa Governance Platform, discussing governance challenges, opportunities, and their approaches to strengthening public institutions and building societal resilience.
The forum served as a springboard for continued dialogue, capacity building, and international cooperation to address global challenges and build a more inclusive and sustainable future for Africa and the MENA region. Read more here.
