ACBF participated in the second regional conference of West Africa, a prelude to the 9th Pan-African Congress, highlighting the importance of diaspora engagement in Africa's future in Bamako, Mali, on 14 and 15 March 2024, under the theme "Diasporas, Afro-descendants, and Development." Thematic sessions addressed vital questions: How can Diasporas and Afro descendants unify strategies to contribute to the African Renaissance? What specific contributions can these communities make to continental development?
The conference included high-level representatives such as Ministers, diaspora and Afro descendant leaders, migration and development specialists, economists, communication experts, academics, researchers, historians, and pan-Africanists. Experts examined the conference theme with actionable recommendations to enhance the involvement of African Diasporas and Afro descendants in continental development, strengthening linkages between these communities and the African continent.
